Employee Engagement

Business Challenge: How do we help employees maintain morale and productivity after a major reorganization?

To address increasing competitive pressures and boost productivity, a federal government agency overseeing the food industry streamlined its processes through a significant reorganization and departmental realignment. As a result, the organization needed assistance helping employees at all levels to embrace the changes and their new roles, and also to maintain engagement and high levels of productivity.

Right Management developed and implemented a change management framework aimed at achieving a number of strategic goals: increasing employee alignment with organizational strategy, enhancing employee competency in driving change, helping employees understand their new responsibilities, boosting individual engagement and productivity, and reducing attrition. The framework included frequent and ongoing consultation to leadership to help them make effective use of change management strategies and tools to support their employees. At the employee level, we worked with our client to design and implement a series of skill-building workshops, conducted face-to-face and virtually, in 7 Canadian cities in English and French.

As part of this program, employees developed a clear understanding of the organization’s new strategy and how their roles were tied to that bigger picture. They also underwent assessment and feedback to gain greater insight into their unique responses to change and how that affected their behaviour at work. Ultimately, employees came away with a toolkit of practical strategies and techniques better equipping them to manage change and uncertainty – all specific to the unique context of their organizational reality.
